Apply for a Dept of the Navy Data Science Summer Internship

The DoN HBCU/MI - Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Internship is a virtual, six-week research experience for HBCU/MI undergraduate and graduate students interested in data science, data analytics, logistics/quality engineering, and logistics information management systems.  The program will run from June 21 to July 30, 2021 and students must complete the full six weeks to receive the stipend.

Participants will spend the summer immersed in a project focused on naval data science and logistics engineering under the guidance of a mentor. Interns will gain an edge in the job market, expand knowledge of supply chain management and optimization in a real-world context, and increase awareness of civilian opportunities within NAVSUP.

To be eligible for the internship, students must be U.S. citizens, currently enrolled in an accredited four-year HBCU/MI with a minimum grade point average of 3.0, majoring in either of the following:

  • Computer Information Systems
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
  • Mathematics

In addition, students must have a valid driver's license and will be required to complete a background check prior to the start of the internship.
